Pusher Centrifuge

A pusher centrifuge is a continuous filtration system designed for efficient dewatering and washing of solids. It is particularly suitable for handling relatively incompressible feed materials, free-draining crystalline substances, polymers, and fibrous materials. The equipment operates using a constant-speed rotor connected to one or more perforated baskets, where separation takes place under centrifugal force.

The feed enters the rotating basket, where solids are retained while the liquid phase passes through. A reciprocating pusher mechanism then moves the solids forward in stages, allowing continuous discharge while washing can be performed simultaneously. Centrifugal force is generated mechanically in smaller units and hydraulically in larger systems to enhance separation efficiency.

Pusher centrifuges are widely used across various industries. Initially applied in inorganic processing, they are now extensively utilized in chemical industries, including organic intermediates, plastics, food processing, and fuel production, offering reliable and continuous solid-liquid separation.
